This is not the first time there have been talks about the possible legalization of online gambling in Belarus. The proposal to legalize online gambling in Belarus was motivated by the fact that the state only loses from the ban. The ministry said that the government is aware that the country's residents play online casinos safely, despite the restriction of access to such resources.
The bill was developed by the Ministry of Taxes and Duties of the country. In addition to legalizing online casinos, he proposes other changes for the gambling industry in general. In particular, the ministry believes that it is necessary to raise the age limit from 18 to 21 for real and online establishments. It is also proposed to ban the ability to lend to players.
Instead of fighting against casino sites, they can be legalized. Trying to keep a gambler out of gambling sites is a thankless task. All the same, players have exits as long as there is a desire to play. But legalization gives state bodies control and tax deductions.
Legalization will help the development of the gambling industry, which is currently experiencing difficulties. According to Vasily Stepanov, who is the development director of the Belaya Vezha casino, gambling establishments cannot withstand pressure from the state and landlords, so many are forced to close. Some casinos are for sale, while others require additional investment.
At the same time, it may seem from the outside that everything is much better for gambling establishments, since outsiders do not know how much the casino spends to attract customers. Moreover, players from Russia, whom Belarusian establishments relied on to a large extent, come less and less often.
In an interview with Login Casino, a Belaya Vezha casino representative was asked about planned innovations that require software updates. To which he replied that "this is just a drop in the sea of additional costs that the state imposes on us."
Vasily Stepanov does not believe that the bill will be adopted and that online casinos will be legalized in Belarus. In his opinion, the country will not come to this decision soon. Well, legalization really may not happen, because such proposals have already been rejected. Maybe even now it will seem to the authorities that the time has not yet come.
